When we talk about colors people generally think it is just for the walls. However, that is not the case here. If you are thinking of your house on the whole you might want to take into consideration color schemes of the floor, couch, wall hangings, carpets or rugs, furniture, drapes and ceilings and so on apart from the hues on the wall. This is how you tend to bring a commendable balance in your home décor color schemes. When everything is well planned beforehand you do not have to buy all these home decorative items with a limited choice of colors to compliment your wall colors. In other words, get yourself a theme around which the color scheme for your living space interiors revolves.

While there are bold colors like oranges, red and yellow that gives a lot of warmth to a room they also say that powerful colors such as these might develop intense moods and aggravate certain emotions like anger. Although this is not true to all shades of these colors they can be wisely selected from an array of thousands of subtle versions of these shades. Also, these colors work well along with certain lighting angles thus if it is a strong dark color it can be easily made warm and soothing with subtle lighting that illuminates the best reflection of that particular color. Lamps installed either on walls or rested on table tops can be an attractive addition to enhance the color schemes.

You can choose wall accessories and other additives to the home décor that have colors contrasting or complementing the wall colors. Besides, all the walls needn’t be in the same color. To get some ideas for the color scheme you might want to acquire adequate inspiration from the natural hues in nature that surround you. Hues of green and blue, peach and silver grey, or even plain white work well for the various corners of your home. You could adopt the shades of different intensities of the same color for the floors, walls and ceilings that would give a right balance to the entire décor in terms of colors.

If you are moving into a house and have all the necessary possessions along with you, you can choose the colors of your walls and other details according to the colors that you already have in these household objects. But if you are starting afresh you cannot ask for a better opportunity to play around with your creativity and artistic ideas to create a whole new world for you within the four walls of your home. Having a multi colored rug gives you a fair idea to a certain extent to choose the colors for your floor, furniture, walls, and ceiling. For instance, if your rug or carpet has a 50% of a pale yellow background use the color for your walls, and go for a deeper version of the same color for the floor, and if about 40% of your rug is brownish, use the color for your sofas and chairs and finally if there are traces of red or gold in the rug use the color on the pillows on sofas or flower vases or paintings on the walls. Go ahead have fun with colors.
