Some tourists say that a tour of Spain is incomplete if you do not visit Barcelona. Some other tourists say that Barcelona is a compact tourist spot. It has historical monuments, most beautiful parks, unbelievably beautiful natural sceneries, museums, tall mountains and spectacular beach. It is no surprise that such a beautiful city was the host of Olympic Games during the year 1992 and it is in the race for holding more Olympic Games. Tourists are also of the opinion that Barcelona can be named as the ‘crown tourist spot’ of Spain.
This legendary city with a population of about 1500000 inhabitants is located in the north east of the Iberian Peninsula and is also Catalonia’s capital. Of course, there are plenty of hotels and therefore finding a suitable accommodation is easy. There are many apartments and Villas to accommodate the tourists. Needless to say that Barcelona is very well connected by Road, Sea and Air. There are plenty of hotels, restaurants and bars which serve the most delicious food of Barcelona.

Tourists are of the opinion that at least a week’s time is required to see all the important places of interest in Barcelona and the neighboring places. That speaks of the richness of Barcelona as a tourist spot. Just walk down the La Rambla street; you will find monumental buildings, stunningly beautiful parks, museums, churches of historical importance and of course restaurants serving mouth watering cuisines. Just to the north of La Rambla is the Barri Gothic which is called the nucleus of Barcelona. It is the place where one can find accommodation at reasonable rentals, market square, etc. Historical Cathedral and Castles are also found here.
Antoni Gaudi, the legendary architect of Spain has constructed many buildings which are known for their spectacular architectural beauty. La Pedrera is one such building which attracts large number of visitors every day. Some of the other masterpiece works of Antoni Gaudi can be seen in Montujic and many other parts of Barcelona.
Barcelona’s beach is another place which receives a large number of tourists throughout the year. Tibidado hill is the most ideal place to get a glimpse of the beauty of Barcelona. Ah! Do not forget to visit the Olympic Village where the 1992 Olympic Games were held.
Barcelona is an industrialized city too. In spite of industrialization, the city has maintained its legendary charm and beauty. So when you visit Spain, be sure that Barcelona tops your itinerary.
