Forty-five employees from within Malta’s most dynamic Malta Hotel business group received recognition recently for an aggregate total of 575 years of loyal service during the AX Holdings Long Service Awards, which were held during a group-wide event at Palazzo Capua, in Sliema. Members of staff who had attained a service of 5, 10, 15, 20 years and 25 years, during 2009 were presented awards to commemorate their commitment to the Group and also to congratulate them for the years of excellent service which is at the basis of all activities embarked upon by AX Holdings.

AX Holdings Chairman, Angelo Xuereb presented each employee with a certificate together with a personalized award and said that “what has made AX Group one of the largest private companies in Malta is the fact that through all its facets, the Group is constantly seeking outstanding staff with a passion for excellence. We believe that our employees make the difference.” Workers within AX Holdings themselves have said that they appreciate the fact they were given the opportunity to grow with and within the Group, to form a family which is succeeding even in today’s hard times. This year AX Holdings have also reintroduced the Chairman's Award, which will give recognition to those employees who will come up with cost reduction and revenue generation achievable suggestions.

Special Awards were given to the Hospitality Divisions' employees of the year, some of whom were given the Award by the Malta Tourism Authority under the S.T.A.R. Over the past two years the AX Hospitality Division for Malta Hotels has managed to place seven nominations out of which three were given the S.T.A.R Award.
