Home is where the heart is, according to a lot of people. That’s true, but the word ‘home’ can have many different meanings, than just the popular building with a living room and bedroom (the basics).
Home can mean that somebody can call their ‘safe place’. This ‘safe place’ can range over a variety of ages, such as children thinking that the playground is their ‘safe place’, or teenagers calling their best friend’s house their ‘safe place’. To some people, ‘home’ is where they can go to in order to forget the troubles of their day and can relax and be themselves.
Home can mean a place for love and relationships. When your mother or father return from work and they usually say “Honey, I’m home” it means they have returned to a stable, loving and caring partnership with your mother or father. Although, don’t take ‘The Shining’ in this way, because it’s completely the opposite way – Jack Nicholson is holding an axe whilst saying this very same line, yet in a very sinister manner…
To the elderly, home can mean something completely different. If they had a partner who passed away, they can call the meeting place of the two their ‘home’. This is a beautiful yet sad thing to say to someone but to a person who was in a relationship for 60 odd years, it can mean something so meaningful and soulful to that particular person.
To families, home is simply a home to be a family in. To sit down in the lounge and enjoy other people’s company, watch the television together, play games when there’s nothing on the television to watch. When the dinner is ready and they sit round the dining room table for their evening communal meal, it really does go a long way to some families. This time together is precious so why waste it?
There is a home within a home, in this case for families and it’s the bedroom. For children/teenagers, the bedroom is what they call their ‘sanctuary’; an area specially designed and catered for them and them only. To adults, the bedroom is a place for love, stability and support, as the parents cuddle together for another night sleep.
Whatever people think may be their home, let’s take the family home for instance, the interior matches the taste of the people living inside it. A brightly lit lounge makes for a lovely sitting area for the family to gather for crucial bonding time. A personal bedroom space for comfort and a particular ‘safe place’ means that the members of the house can relax in peace without the hassle of everyday life, including education and the workplace – the sentence of heaven for teenagers.
Finish off this perfect sanctity with the perfect bathroom – a brightly lit, with the option of dimmed lighting for soothing effect whilst in the bath, creates a relaxing, stress-free zone for everybody within the household.
If your house is important to you, then it is vital that you make the most of the space that your home offers. Therefore it is worth fitting it with a great variety of design features such as stunning carron baths and beautiful bathroom furniture.
