Vitamins and minerals are extremely important for the overall development of our body and they also help boost our energy level helping us stay away from many diseases.
Nowadays many individuals are seen taking health vitamins and a recent study has revealed that every two out of five people take dietary supplement. There are many reasons behind this and one of them is that the diet we take is not sufficient and does not provide our body the right amount of nutrition. Senior people believe that the kind of food we get today is grown with the help of fertilizers and pesticides and so they are more injurious than healthy.

Also, doctors suggest that women above the age of 35 must have calcium and iron at regular intervals.

Vitamin deficiency can prove to be very dangerous. Many diseases are as a result of deficiencies found in the body especially of growing children and old people. Although comparatively young people are safer, if their diet remains deficient of certain vitamin or mineral they may have some health problem in long run as well.

There is a long debate going on whether people should take health vitamins or not. Well, the case is different for different individuals. A common formula cannot be worked out. If you fail to eat balanced food, your body can be deficient of some vitamin or mineral. Certain medication also drains and makes the person deficient.
