McNown turned out to be one of the first freshmen quarterbacks. As a freshman of UCLA, he was the starting quarterback, playing four games in the season. In the year of 1995, UCLA played in an Aloha Bowl and lost to Kansas with a score 7-5. However, UCLA beat USC, its rival in overtime. The team had a deficiency of 17 points in the 4th quarter. The season was completed with a happy note. He was the 9th in ranking in the pass efficiency of the Pac-10. UCLA went 5-6.

Cade McNown was born on January 12, 1977 in Portland Oregon. He started high school in San Benito HS located in Hollister. He transferred to West Linn High School located in Oregon for his senior year, wherein he as a player of quarterback. He led his alma mater to the semifinals of Oregon 4A in 1994. He was so promising newspapers touted him as a college prospect. He was also active in the track team of the school. He was able to overtake all the highest record on pole vault. He was drafted by University of California and Los Angeles. This signing in was greatly influenced by Brock Huard, who was to be his forthcoming NFL quarterback. Huard and McNown were the leading high school quarterback candidates in the western part of US in 1994.

In 1997, during his junior year, Cade McNown declared the goal of the team to attain an average score of thirty points for every game. The season started with a 0-2 onset, but the 10 remaining games were won by UCLA. They won the Cotton Bowl, beating Texas A&M. They were ranked 5th in the country. They finished Pac10 as co-champion. McNown befitted as the Most Outstanding Offensive Player during the year’s game in Cotton. In 1998, his senior year, Cade McNown helped in making UCLA lead in a ten is to two record, which included an appearance in Rose Bowl as the solitary champion of Pac-10. McNown steered them to a winning streak that lasted for 20 games.
McNown set high school and college histories in offense and passing. He came to be the Pac-10’s Unsurpassed Career Leader when it comes to Total Offense. He garnered a set of past season awards, which included Pac-10’s co-Offensive Quarterback of the Year, and Top Senior Player playing in the West Coast given by the Pop Warner Memorial Trophy. Associated Press honored him with a First All American team. Cade McNown is the sole holder of many total-offense and passing records. He is the holder of the distinction as the only quarterback from UCLA to have a 4 to nothing against USC, its rival. Cade McNown was included into the University of California and Los Angeles Hall of Fame for Athletics on October 2009.

After his career at UCLA, Cade McNown began working with the team Chicago Bears where he became part on 1999. He was part of the Bears for two seasons. He finished brief career with NFL as a backup quarterback for the SF 49ers and Miami Dolphins.
