The full form of AIEEE is the All India Engineering Entrance Examination that is arranged by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. The exam is a national level competitive exam and is used for the admission process for various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in colleges that accept the AIEEE as a valid yardstick. The exam is usually held in April and the AIEEE Exam 2012 will be held on 29th April. Results are generally announced on the last week of May or the first week of June. The AIEEE was first introduced in the 2002. All the IIT’s and NIT’s (National Institute of Technology) accept the AIEEE score.
The AIEEE Exam 2012 will be the 12th edition of this exam and every effort is being made for it to be a smooth process. The AIEEE usually has 2 papers: paper 1 tests the examinee’s knowledge on mathematics, physics and chemistry, while paper 2 tests the candidate’s knowledge on mathematics, drawing and aptitude. There is negative marking if one answers incorrectly. The syllabus is something that is common to all boards of education in India and everything that have been taught through the course of 12 years of schooling. Students who wish to take up B. Tech or B.E. courses have to sit for paper 1 while students wishing to take up B. Arch or B. Planning courses are required to sit for paper 2.
Around 1 lakh of students appeared for the AIEEE in 2011 and it is expected that the number will go up for the AIEEE Exam 2012. AIEEE is relatively easier than IIT JEE but it does not mean that you can go to the exam hall without any preparation, you still need a certain amount of preparation to get a decent enough All India Rank (AIR) that will enable you to get through either the IIT’s or the NIT’s. As always it is important that you have your concepts and basics under your grasp which will help in tackling the problems posed before you. Practice a lot of sample of papers and work against time; this will help you to cope better with exam situation when you are actually in the hall. Give everything problem a go first and if you face trouble while tackling then only ask for help. If you give up on the very first attempt, you won’t learn. Also it is best to device your own little methods and tricks to solve a particular kind of problem.
To succeed at AIEEE you have to pay attention to both accuracy and time, so practice at home keeping in mind both these factors. Since you won’t be allowed either calculators or log tables or any such thing, time is of the essential factor as you cannot use a short cut. Also since the AIEEE is the baby of CBSE, you should never let go of your NCERT books; they are equivalent to your bible. So if you are an AIEEE Exam 2012 aspirant, it is time you went back to your NCERTs.
